My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Milo, a gentle hound mix with captivating garnet-colored eyes, began his journey at New Leash on Life as a vivacious four-month-old puppy in May 2021. Originally named Noel, his world changed when a loving family adopted him, changing his name to Milo. They quickly introduced him to the joys of companionship. Life with Milo was a picture of happiness until shifts in the family's circumstances meant they could no longer provide Milo the attention and care he deserved. Regrettably, they returned him to New Leash on Life, knowing we would help him find a forever home. Approaching three years old now, Milo exudes warmth, boasting a sleek black and brown coat that accentuates his endearing personality. Despite his past, Milo remains a sweet and affectionate boy yearning for a second chance at love and stability. He's received comprehensive care, having been neutered, microchipped, and kept up-to-date with vaccines. Moreover, Milo has been safeguarded against fleas, ticks, and heartworms, ensuring his well-being for his future family. For a modest adoption fee of $75, Milo eagerly awaits the opportunity to enrich someone's life with his unwavering loyalty and boundless affection-a loyal companion ready to find his forever home once again. **All New Leash on Life dogs must be adopted to families willing to have their pets be allowed inside - especially at night. No dog is allowed to be put on a "tie out" or chain outside and should be walked on a leash when not in a fenced in yard. ** (D21-061)

More about this rescue

New Leash on Life is dedicated to improving the welfare of companion animals in our community through shelter, placement, spay/neuter, education and awareness.

Our goals include the following:

To educate the public about the importance of having their pets spayed or neutered, and to provide low or no cost surgeries for those in need.

To shelter and provide care for stray, abused, or relinquished animals.

To educate the general population about the seriousness of pet overpopulation.

To end euthanasia as a means of controlling pet overpopulation.

To find good homes for the animals in our care.

Our hope for the future is that there will be no unwanted, unloved or abandoned companion animal. We will continue with our aggressive spay/neuter campaign and our owner education programs in the hopes that any pet ever adopted will find a permanent, loving home. We believe that with the involvement of our community we will make a significant impact on the welfare of companion animals, but we need your help and understanding. Together, will make the difference.
