Despite a challenging start to life, Venus has thrived under the care of her wonderful foster family. She became a part of the APARC family in November 2023 after being discovered abandoned with her siblings at the CJ Brown Reservoir Marina when she was only 4-5 weeks old. On January 5, 2024, she faced a setback when she fractured her little ankle, leading to a severe infection that almost resulted in losing her leg. Fortunately, her foster family's dedication saved her leg, though she later battled a severe skin infection causing most of her hair to fall out. Now, after several months, Venus is prepared to join a loving family that will guide her towards exciting adventures instead of misfortunes!
Venus is a spirited and affectionate pup who has won the hearts of many medical professionals and visitors at her foster home in her short life. She adores people of all ages, plays well with dogs, and is curious around tolerant cats. Venus is a cuddle bug who will sweetly persuade you to sit down so she can snuggle up next to you or on your lap. Her energetic nature makes her a great companion for outdoor activities like hiking or playing fetch in the backyard, making her an ideal match for an active family or kids. Despite a past leg injury, she still enjoys jumping, so a fenced backyard is a must.
At six months old and weighing around 35lbs, Venus is a female pit mix. She’s had 3 rounds of DAPP, bordetella, and is microchipped along with having been dewormed multiple times. She is crate trained and mostly housebroken, with some accidents due to her recent medical issues. A 6ft fenced yard or supervised tie-out area is needed for her outdoor time.
Venus will be adopted on a spay agreement at one year old, considering her health concerns.
Her adoption fee is $250.

More about this rescue
The animals that come into our care are either saved from euthanasia at local municipal shelters, or are animals which need to be rehomed due to changes in their current families. We do all that we can to make sure they are as healthy as they can before moving on to their forever homes. We believe in finding their forever home, not just the fastest home.
We believe wholeheartedly in the motto "do good recklessly" and do all that we can to help as many as we can!
