My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toastina McFluffykins, Keeper of the Golden Crust
Pittie Mix
Female
1.5 years old
37 lbs.

Hi friends, I’m Toastina McFluffykins, Keeper of the Golden Crust! I’m the happiest pup with so much playful puppy energy to share! My top talents are giving hugs, snuggles and kisses. I’m waiting and ready to wiggle my way into your heart!

I’m a social and curious pup who wants to be included in everything fun going on around me. I adore all humans and dogs and am always on the lookout for someone to play or snuggle with. If they aren't in the mood to play, I grab a toy and am content. I'm the goofiest girl you'll meet! I grunt when I roll on the couch and I would love to show you even more of my quirks, like throwing toys for myself or running around with my (sometimes clumsy) zoomies. My energy level is high as a young adult, but I know when it's time to wind down and will shift gears to become a mellow and cuddly creature. For added cuteness, I like to have my face next to my humans for comfort and affection.
I'm doing great with all the people and dogs that I have met. I'm still learning what "no" means—whether it's said by a human or canine. Continued training and support will be needed on my journey to become the best pet ever and I'm up for the challenge. I love all toys—you name it, I love it! I am crate trained and am happy to go relax and snooze in my crate after a long day. I love treats and will come running for them, plus treats help with my continued training. A bonus is I like to sleep in—you'll need to coax me out of my warm bed if it’s too early (hint… I’ll do it for a treat). I am potty trained and have experience using a doggy door.
Because of my strong prey drive, I would thrive in a home without cats. However, I adore playing with the three other dogs in my foster home. Another youthful pup who can keep up with my energy level would be an ideal companion. While I haven't had the opportunity to meet any kids yet, I believe I would do well with older children who can match my enthusiasm and partake in my puppy-like antics and adventures.

My foster family has noted that I have a skin condition that is currently being treated with medication and baths. While I don’t love baths, I know it's necessary to heal. Don’t worry, though- while I may need help controlling my occasionally itchy skin, I still promise to still be a fantastic best friend.

I would be the ideal companion for an active and patient family prepared to introduce me to the wonders of the world and help me become a cherished family pet! Is that you???

PawsCo loves to remind adopters that young pups are SO adorable but we are also a lot of work! We are similar to having a human toddler and we need a ton of patience, positive reinforcement training, and tons of love. A pup my age is still working on potty training, puppy “mouthing” during play, learning what to chew and what not to chew, and other typical young pup behaviors. An adopter should be fully prepared to register for socialization classes at a local training facility (positive reinforcement training only!) and/or a commitment to learning positive training techniques to help support me as training and socialization are so important for a pup my age!
