My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kane hasn't has the best opportunity for success. This boy has been in several home and we feel he was mistreated by a man and it is taking him a while to warm up to any new ones. He is making progress with introductions but he is losing progress in his anxiety the longer he sits in this environment. Kane is a stage five clinger and once he loves you all he wants is your love and attention back. This boy deserves someone to give him a real opportunity as he hasn't ever had that stability he needs to succeed. We were told he was good with kids, but at this point he seems pretty anxious and nervous with sudden movements, so we would prefer no young kids. Kane is dog selective, and has done better with female dogs.

More about this shelter

The Lewis County Humane Society is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation which owns and operates a no-kill animal shelter on the Pine Grove Rd in Glenfield, NY. That shelter is contracted with the townships in Lewis County to house dogs brought in from the townships by the dog control officers. The shelter also houses homeless cats from the county.
Our shelter relies on the generosity of our supporters because shelter expenses far exceed our revenue. We greatly appreciate all your support which enables us to care for and find new homes for all the wonderful animals at our shelter.
