My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CALLING ALL DOG WHISPERERS- Everyone welcome Sweet Pea- or Swee Pea as her foster mommy likes to call her. Swee Pea is a 5 year old/9 lb chihuahua girl looking for a very special home/person that will be patient with her and give her the time to learn to trust again. She came from a hoarding situation and is afraid of everything at first, so she needs that special DOG WHISPERER HUMAN that can show her how special she is and help her gain back her self confidence. Swee Pea really wants to trust and be loved...when her foster mom comes into the room she runs towards her as if to say " hi it's me Swee Pea- pick me up!"- but then just as quickly she retreats...BUT once she is in your arms and held lovingly she will relax and start to melt into the cuddle. Swee Pea LOVES other dogs and we think it'd be great if she were to go to a home with another fur-kid around to show her the ropes- but most importantly for her is that one -on-one human attention she desperately needs and wants. Swee Pea will need a secured/contained area to run around in as she is not leash trained - we are hoping in time that will change but or now that is a requirement. If interested in adopting Swee Pea please fill out an application at www.floridacockerrescue.org ADOPTION FEE: $300.00

More about this rescue

Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue (FCCR) is a non-profit organization located in SW Florida. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing Cocker Spaniels throughout the state of Florida and neighboring states. We rely 100% on donations and volunteers to help us take care of our dogs. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines and rabies, heartworm tested, flea and heartworm treatment, and microchip.

FCCR carefully screens all of our potential furever and foster homes to ensure that our pups will have safe and loving homes. Some of our dogs come from shelters and abusive situations and we want to make sure that they will only see love the rest of their lives.
