My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aspen is a 6 month old Heeler mix female who currently weighs about 25 pounds (and growing!). She is a love bug, enjoys cuddling and snuggling when she is not wiggling or doing zoomies! She has many friends in her foster family, getting along with cats, small chihuahuas, and a big Doberman. She lets the cats sleep in her bed. Aspen is doing awesome with her crate training. She attended 2 full days at puppy school with Kudos 2 Canine training. Potty training is a work in progress, but she is learning from the others. Her favorite joy is to be outside running in the sunshine. If you can keep up with her and enjoy playing she will be your best friend.

Aspen would love another playful dog in her adoptive home and a family who takes her out on adventures to see the world outside of her back yard, attends a basic training course with her, and continues to socialize her with other pets, people and places.

Aspen's adoption fee is $300 and includes her first years vaccines, deworming, health check, microchip, and spay.

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
