Photographing Pine, we were struck by his sweet smile. He sat perfectly for our volunteer photographer Jen, very formal and serious at first. Then, as she clicked away, it happened. As he relaxed, Pine broke into a smile, the first time we'd seen him do that at the shelter. It was such a poignant moment. Pine is a beautiful lab mix boy. At 3, he still has that sweet, goofy lab energy, all legs in every direction. Still, at the same time, he seems pretty centered. We took Pine in after his human passed away and he found himself living in her backyard 24/7. He seemed very grateful to have a roof over his head again. Even with all he must be feeling, Pine is a easygoing, affectionate guy. He greets everyone like a long lost friend and seems comfortable seeing other dogs around the shelter. We've not yet had a chance to test him with dogs and cats but can do so if you have either. Pine would love a home where he will be treated like family. If you have a sweet spot for gentle, friendly dogs, he would be a great choice.
