When Fringilla, 1, sits down and gives us her head tilt, her little velvety triangle ears in the lift-off position, her eyebrows registering deep concern as we flail around, trying to capture one more cellphone photo before the sun says sayonara, everything feels right with the world. And, yes, that is a long sentence. But, Your Honor, we are full of long sentences about this glorious dog!
May we approach the bench, and may we introduce Exhibit A: the lankiest, softest, most achingly endearing GSD-mystery-mix pup to come along in 100 moons? Can we try to solve the mystery of how a dog this good to her core has not been scooped up after months of waiting?
Fringilla was adopted as a small puppy, but had to return to the fold when her adopter developed some health challenges.
Since then, she's been caught in a kind of shelter limbo, overlooked by visitors set on finding a very young puppy, and a to big and too much fun for the people who want a lap (or a nap) dog.
Fringilla checks all the boxes. She's great with dogs and people, likes kids, and has been a "puppy therapy dog, visiting people at their workplaces and making them very, very happy. And, she's gorgeous, and magical, and beloved by her caregivers.
Her only challenges, if you could even call them challenges, are that she's young, and prone to the zoomies at times, making her a better fit for older kids who can keep up with her and want a dog with a lot of play in her. She also needs some leash walking practice, and is a 4/10 puller, with "10 being you are a squirrel being pulled by a waterski at the Atlanta Auto Show.
Guys, trust us on this: you need to meet Fringilla, and we can make it happen.
