Meet Lupo!
We were contacted last weekend by an elderly couple that had purchased Lupo last mo from an Amish "breeder" and they could no longer keep him due to a severe allergy. Come to find out that was not the case, he was in fact displaying resource guarding with the husband. Instead of correcting the behavior, he was reinforcing it by petting him & laughing. We personally have not seen any of that from him ourselves but than again we don't tolerate that type of behavior either. Lupo is 7 1/2 mos old and your typical puppy. He is fully vetted (neutered/vacs/chip), does well with other dogs, but he does seem to prefer dogs closer to his size. He is good with people/kids but he is slow to warm up to strangers, which is not surprising given where he came from. The Amish are not known for caring a whole lot about the animals in their care. Lupo is doing very well with housebreaking and is just about there. He is also crate trained, but not so much a fan of the crate. Again, not surprising given where he came from.
So the ideal home for Lupo is one without kids under 10. He will also need a firm owner that won't tolerate bad behavior. Lupo is a very loving puppy that just wants attention.
