Hello! My name is Rose. I am a gorgeous girl who came to the shelter for being a bit too nippy, so the landlord said I could no longer stay there. I can be a bit protective of my people, so I am looking for someone who can give me the assurance that people are not a threat, but instead can be my friends! Please don't let my barking at the kennel scare you off - I really am sweet! The shelter is working with me on trusting people again. I know sit and lay down. I even stay for short periods of time! I look so cute when I sit or stand on my back legs! Once I get to know you, I become an amazing cuddle dog who will nuzzle into your chest for affection. Because of my history of being overprotective and nippy around kids, a home with older kids would be best for me. I also have lived with dogs in the past, but didn't get along with them or other dogs outside the home. A dog free home would be best. There is a sweet and loving side to me - it just may take some patience from my new family to get it out of me! A quiet home that doesn't have frequent visitors would be ideal! HSSC places animals on a first come, first serve basis. After an animal that is available for adoption has been met with, the animal’s name can be put on an application. Animals that are applied for must be adopted the same day or within 24 hours of the animal being placed on the adoption application. Exceptions will be made if any animal needs a medical procedure, but then will need to be adopted within 24 hours of being cleared from that procedure. HSSC reserves the right to accommodate alternate timelines for special needs/behavioral issue animals.
It is the potential adopter's responsibility to communicate with their landlord to contact HSSC for approval or to provide documentation stating permission within 24 hours of application submission.
It is also the potential adopter's responsibility to produce a current rabies certificate for their current dog(s) to conduct a dog to dog meet and greet within 24 hours of application submission.
