My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
Hi My Name 's Espresso- like the coffee I pack a punch... full of love. I love my humans and want nothing more than to bask in their love and affection. Be careful, I'm a cuddle ninja. If you give me the opportunity I will squeeze/push my body as close to you as I can , so that we can cuddle. I also love hugs! I will even rest my head against your shoulder if you give me a really good one. My foster parents say that I need to work on personal space, and I'm working on it. I just figured personal space meant the space in which I get cuddles- my bad! When my humans are busy with something else I find a comfy spot to lay down and nap near them. If I want to play and my humans are busy I have started to play with my toys on my own- go me!
I trust my humans to take care of me, so much so that I let them touch my feet and face, put on my warmer jackets without a fuss, and they can even move me around to where they need. Speaking of jackets, I love to wear my jacket when I go for long walks (I get kinda grumpy without it) I enjoy taking walks since I have energy to burn- my name's Espresso, what did you expect? I am learning to not pull or tug on my leash while I am walking and get better at it everyday! Although I do get into some trouble trying to eat things I shouldn't, I am learning to drop things on command and listen to my human to "leave it" if I shouldn't have it.
New things are a bit scary but with just a little patience and reassurance I can adapt. I really love food. It motivates me to learn new things and helps me know when I do something good. My foster mom says I have anxiety, but that's okay 'cause so does she; we even take the same medicine for it! She also gives me a bunch of very durable chew toys to chew, 'cause it helps me de-stress.
I would do best with a home that has someone at home more often than not, as I'm working on trusting that my people will come back to me, and I get nervous if it's been too long without seeing them. I do best with a firm schedule and know what to expect to help me succeed. I am house trained although I do have the occasional accident especially if i'm overly stressed. To help me my foster parents, monitor my water intake, and take me out whenever I wake up from one of my naps.
I would love to have a home with a backyard so I can run around and play to let out my excess energy. I don't have a prey drive, new dogs and tiny humans make me nervous when I first meet them and tend to cower if they invade my space immediately but I have no problems with other dogs once I meet them.
Anyway, lunch is calling my name so I gotta go now- hopefully we can meet soon!
