My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howie and Wonka were born to a stray cat in the backyard of a kind lady house that was feeding all of them but knew they deserved better and called us for help.

We took them all to be neutered, vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, flea and worm treated and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV., then they want to a wonderful foster who worked with them and made them the sweet yet shy babies (at first) they are now.

This is from the foster:

Howie and Wonka are two spunky little boys who love toys, wet food, treats, and someone just relaxing in their company.

Howie is extremely lovable and wants all of the affection and attention. He’ll meow when she sees you and will let you rub his belly. He loves to snuggle in bed. Howie always wants to lick your hands, face, and feet! He immediately starts to purr when you pet him and can be a little clumsy which is hysterical.

Wonka plays hard to get but loves back scratches. He’s a quirky little boy who is comfortable just relaxing next to you .He will come over to you and play with your hands and feet like he’s not sure what to do with them, so he decides to play with them instead. He’s still warming up to being loved on but he’s coming around a little more everyday.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in meeting one of our cats, you can fill out our online adoption application at www.castawaycatsde.com. Once we receive your application we will contact you with any questions we may have, and then will set up a day and time for you to meet the cat/cats. Once a match is found for your family, there is an $85 adoption fee. This fee covers spaying/neutering of your cat, worming, all shots including rabies, ear mite and flea treatment, and Feline Leukemia and AIDS testing. All adoptions are done on a trial basis so we can be sure everyone is happy. Our goal is to find the best possible cat for you and to ensure our cats have happy forever homes.

More about this rescue

Castaway Cats is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit cat rescue based in Bear, DE, comprised entirely of volunteers. We do not have a shelter and all of our cats are in foster homes. This rescue was started in 1992 in an effort to help the homeless and feral cats in our area. Each cat we rescue is spayed/neutered, tested for Feline Leukemia and AIDS, vaccinated with FVCRP and rabies shots, de-wormed and de-fleaed. Because all our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, we do not adopt out kittens under the age of 12 weeks.
