My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trish is 8 years old and weighs about 10lbs. We believe she may be a Maltese and dachshund mix. She has a beautiful cream colored fluffy coat (she doesn't seem to shed!) and a long body with short legs. She is a darling little girl who was found in pretty rough shape in Brenham and taken to the shelter there. She had a ruptured globe of her right eye and it had to be removed. She has slight visual impairment of the left eye but she gets around perfectly fine. Due to chronic dry eye in her left eye, she now has an implant in that eye that dispenses eye drops to prevent any further damage. This implant requires no maintenance but the owner other than periodic check ups. No meds or eye drops needed! The implant will need to be replaced every 2 years. Trish has a sweet personality and is very loyal and attached to her person. Her next favorite thing would be her beloved squeaky toys. She likes to get them all in one spot and give them each fair play time! She does resource guard these toys from other dogs, so she would do best as an only dog in the home, or a dog that would show no interest in her toys. Trish is fully vaccinated, spayed, has had her teeth cleaned, is heartworm negative and also microchipped. She is ready to find a loving home and a best friend to spend her days with!

Trish's adoption fee is $300.

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
