I rescued Fern and her sister at 2 1/2 weeks old from a very unclean living situation. Both were on the brink of death. I bottle fed them and nursed them back to health. At 8 weeks old, Fern was adopted by a friend of a friend. But just a couple weeks ago she was returned to me. The adopter told me she was chewing things up, and was left alone too long to keep her in a kennel while the family was away every day.
Since she has been with me, this is what I have observed: she is timid and takes a while to warm up to new people. She won't chew up anything if she has plenty of toys to chew. She's awesome with my other dogs, and rather submissive. She's sensitive and doesn't like yelling. She's great with cats and my young child. She barks A LOT. Especially when she's outside. She's 100% housebroke, but hasn't been spayed or vaccinated. She is kennel trained. She's very energetic and needs plenty of exercise. She's is a big cuddler once she warms up to you.
