My name is Horace!

Horace came in with his bestie Jasper and both these sweet lab mixes went unclaimed. He had a snout full of porcupine quills that were removed the same night.  And we found out he had a broken femur that healed incorrectly.  He was still happy as can be on his walks through the woods and is able to play around in the indoor arena with a human or his buddy Jasper. He has now had femoral head surgery and is recovering nicely!  Once he's fully healed he'll be ready for adoption. He gets a long with other dogs given the proper introductions. He does not care for cats. A home with or without kids would be okay with him. He would appreciate the playtime with kids, and he doesn’t jump much on you, so he has some pretty good manners. He seems to know some basic commands - will need some reinforcement with treats!  He's a love bug, and with his shiny black coat and his medium 45 lb size, he'd be a great couch potato buddie. All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice.
