My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A bit of sassy and spunk is how we’d describe this adorable, handsome guy, PAXTON. He’s a 6 year old, 10-pound, Australian Terrier mix at best guess. Paxton absolutely loves to play with other dogs (small and medium sizes), and can be a little bit dominant at first, but settles quickly. He can be a bit timid when meeting people initially but warms up very quickly - once he gets to know you he’s your best friend. Paxton absolutely loves to run the yard with the other dogs and chase critters, and will play with all his toys in the home. He walks nicely on a leash and is not a big barker.

Paxton has had a difficult time getting potty training down, but he easily wears his assortment of fashionable belly bands in different colors and patterns. He was recently diagnosed with an exceptionally small bladder which the veterinarian thinks could be the reason Paxton struggles; despite this, he is very healthy. So, this cutie struts around looking hip with his colorful belly-bands and continues working on potty training. He just may be one of those dogs that gets to look stylish and prefers a fashionable belly band.

The ideal adopter will have another small to medium sized, playful dog in the home, and a securely fenced yard for playtime. Paxton appears to have been not treated too kindly in his past, so he’d appreciate an understanding adopter to help him feel secure and loved. He is so worth the time and effort - he’ll love you forever!

This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, been provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped. Our online application is not functioning currently; therefore ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.   We apologize for the inconvenience.

More about this rescue

A Caring Place, is an All Breed Dog Rescue organization that is exclusively foster based (no facility) and is volunteer run. We rescue dogs and puppies from animal control facilities, dog pounds, and other shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia. In addition we take in dogs surrendered by their owners who can or are no longer willing to care for their dog. Each dog this rescue takes in receives all medical care and treatment necessary to be healthy, and then place them into loving temporary homes (foster homes) until adopted. Without our foster care provider's, we could not save these dogs.

FOSTER CARE PROVIDERS are always needed!
