Hopkins entered Bonita Shelter as a stray, and when he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on December 21st to become a Frosted Face. He is around 11 years old and weighs 15 lbs.
Hopkin is a sweet, smart, and active pup who is good with other dogs and cats.
Hopkins has been on two Frosted Flings, and we've learned that he is much more relaxed in a home. For that reason, his current Fling Family has decided to extend his fling. They share:
"Hopkins is so fun to have around that we've decided to extend his fling.
It took some time, but Hopkins has adjusted to our routine and we've been learning his preferences. He's a talkative guy, letting us know what he wants or doesn't like with cute little grunts and whines. He only barks if he needs to potty, and we have missed his other cues. Hopkins eats his meals from food puzzles (see video.)
Hopkins is a nice mix of affectionate and independent. He likes to cuddle, but not all of the time and is happy to just be nearby relaxing in a cozy dog bed. Hopkins loves people but squirms a little when you first pick him up. He likes being wrapped like a burrito in a cozy blanket. Hopkins does well on car rides, usually napping on the seat or floor, or sometimes
on the lap of a lucky human.
Hopkins isn't a lap dog, but he likes to be close to people. He's happy to cuddle up on a dog bed next to the couch. He enjoys gentle pets and ear scratches. Being picked up isn't his favorite thing. He gets wiggly and fusses if he doesn't want to be held.
Next to treats, walks are his most favorite thing in the whole world! Hopkins is good on leash and easy to walk. He keeps a quick peppy pace (see video) and can easily go 2-3 miles! He loves walks and keeps a quick pace. Hopkins seems to really enjoy the company of other dogs. On walks he's faster than our blind dog, but he stops frequently to check on her which is very sweet. They cuddle sometimes. and she licks his face which he seems to like. He even played a little with our other dog recently. Hopkins is indifferent to our cat.
Hopkins is a wonderful dog, and we love having him as a houseguest."
Hopkins is ready for his forever home!
