My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Snowfield! I am a sweet and social cat looking for an owner who is willing to let me lay in their lap all day. Once I get comfortable I will be looking for love, pets, playtime/enrichment toys, and lots of yummy food! I could do well living in a variety of households, but I hope you like a catty cat! I would love to be the spotlight of your life, and get all the attention to myself!
Foster Parent Comments: "Snowfield is an active, affectionate cat who loves being where the action is. In the important cat ways, he's a perfect, dignified gentleman--doesn't scratch on furniture, 100% use of the litter box, doesn't try to sneak outside, etc.. But he's also a giant goof who makes us laugh every day with something new. Give this guy a few crinkle toys, an occasional running faucet, and a window to watch squirrels or cars go by, and he'll be your best friend waiting at the door when you come home."

Snowfield tested positive for the Feline leukemia virus (or FeLV). With good nutrition and routine wellness care, a healthy cat that is FeLV positive can live a long, happy life. Please call or come in to find out more. Snowfield am currently living in a foster home, if you are interested in setting up a meeting, please fill out an adoption survey online and call the shelter at 734-662-5585. He hopes to meet you soon!

"Hi I'm Snowfield, I'm 1 year old and I'm a calm sort of guy. I like playing with toys
and chatting. I don't like loud noises. I am looking for a home without little kids and willing to learn about FeLV+. I am super fluffy and cuddly. I'd like someone to adopt me soon." - written by a 2nd grader at Lakewood Elementary

"I like snowfield because he is the same color as the snow. snowfield is
fluffy and cute and is a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious cat!!!!!! I love Snowfield and he is a male cat. He likes to make muffins. You should give him a good home. the end!!" - written by a 2nd grader at Lakewood Elementary

Additional adoption info

Thank you for considering adopting and saving a life! Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge you need to adopt while making the process a positive experience, so here are some things to know:

+ You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt at HSHV. We welcome all--from any county or state!

+ Prior to visiting an animal, you must complete an application. You can do this at the shelter, or save time by bringing a completed one with you by downloading it from our website at www.hshv.org/howtoadopt.

+ Some animals have special adoption requirements.

+ If you have a dog and wish to adopt another, we may require a dog-to-dog interaction.

+ Adoptions are first-come, first served and holds are limited to one 24-hour hold per family.

+ Please allow at least an hour if you plan on adopting. Bring your driver's license or other government-issued ID with proof of address, a copy of your lease (if it applies) and vaccination records for current pets.

+ Applications are accepted up until 15 minutes prior to closing.

+ Most adoptions are same-day, you'll take home your new friend!
