My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Beveren, an adorable 6-month-old bundle of joy with a shiny ebony coat! He's bursting with charisma and enthusiasm, always eager for outdoor escapades like playful romps, leisurely walks, and yard explorations. His mischievous side shines in games of tug of war and his peculiar penchant for sock collecting.

Outdoor enthusiast alert: Beveren adores the open air so much, he might stage a protest when it's time to head indoors!

Currently, Beveren is thriving in his foster home, surrounded by two teenage girls, a 5-year-old boy, and a lively canine pal, also a graduate of Paws New England! He's embraced the bustling energy of his foster family, spreading his own brand of joy and affection to each member.

Impressively, Beveren is already a pro at crate and potty training, and he's eagerly mastering basic commands like sit, down, and come, proving he's a quick learner. His snack preferences lean towards healthy options like apples and carrots (someone should check if he's secretly part horse, haha), but he's also a big fan of bully sticks. When it's mealtime, he patiently waits for his food to be prepared before trotting over to his designated dining spot.

Beveren dreams of finding a family that shares his zest for outdoor adventures and embraces cozy cuddle sessions on the couch in the evenings. If you're seeking a loyal and affectionate companion who's up for any adventure, Beveren is your guy.

Puppy Adoption Fee:  $400.00

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You will be required to attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are experienced dog owners and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy so if you experience behavior issues you have a point of contact.

PLEASE - Think long and hard before adopting a puppy - consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with - he cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older, puppy proofing your home will be necessary, puppies scratch and nip so if you have small children, can they handle this?? Training will be so important in this puppy's life, do you have the time??

Please consider purchasing this book before adopting.  Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.

More about this rescue

PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.

Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
