My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pixie is a sweet Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix that’s spayed and looking for a forever home. She’s very energetic which can be a turn-off for some dogs but she’s getting along great with our German Shepherd & cattle dog. If you have other dogs in your home, we can do a no pressure meet & greet to see if she’s a good fit for your family.

She’s housebroken, crate trained & prefers to sleep in the same room as her human. If you can tire her out, she is a world class snuggler! She’ll curl up next to you and loves to lay her head on you while she naps.

Walking Style: Pixie is getting better with every walk we take. Right now she’s a light-to-moderate puller that loves to zigzag in front, stopping to smell her new world. She’s selectively reactive to people walking, some people she sees and goes back to smelling things, other times she barks at them. She’s the most reactive if she sees someone walking another dog.

Learning Style: Pixie is treat driven and eager to please. You can literally see her face light up after you tell her she’s a good girl. Her favorite treat is chopped up hotdogs but she also loves blueberries & cheese.

She cannot be placed in a house with cats or toy breed dogs. She gets along great with larger dogs that love to play. She’d also be great as an only dog.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) not for profit dog rescue based in Colorado Springs, CO. Our goal is to rescue dogs from high kill shelters in other states and get them adopted into forever homes all along the Front Range and Pikes Peak Region. We are brand new, established in April 2019, and we are an all volunteer organization. We are always in need of donations, either money, much needed dog items like dog beds, kennels, leashes, etc, and loving foster homes. If you can't provide any of these things, we are always in need of people that can help out at events and transport when the dogs come in. We look forward to hearing from you!!
