My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Luna and the story of how I ended up here is a little sad but has a happy ending. A couple of months ago, my foster dad found me running loose around his neighborhood without a collar. I was scared and confused and looking for my humans, and because he seemed like a trustworthy guy, I let him take me home for a warm bath, kibble, and a place to stay. I was brought to the shelter andthanks to their care, I'm getting treated for my heartworms, I got my spay surgery, and I got caught up on my vaccines! I'm ready for a loving family that has lots of energy and spunk to match my own.

As far as my temperament goes, my foster dad says I'm a sweet girl with lots to offer in the beauty and brawn departments. I'm also a bit of a goofball! When you come home, I will greet you with a wagging tail and I'll roll over to show my belly so you can give me some belly rubs. All I want to do is lick your face and be next to you, whether you're working at your desk or on the couch watching TV. I'm also great with children and love to play all the time! My future paw-rent should be somebody who is willing to continue training me with regular reinforcement. I can sit, stay, shake, and come when called. I also don't jump on tables, counters, and people (unless I'm really happy to see them) plus I only chew on toys and not your shoes. Also, I am well potty trained and can hold it in if needed.

Things I'm working on are anxiety around other dogs and focusing better on walks. My foster dad is teaching me to heel when I walk and building my confidence when I walk by other dogs. I'm getting better day by day, going to dog parks several times a week, and without a single bark or snarl myself! If you already have another dog at home, it would be a good idea to introduce us over time so we can be comfortable with each other. I would not be a good fit for a household with cats or other small animals because I want to be their friend so much I'll chase them which unfortunately they don't seem to like.

And the happy ending to this story? Well, that's where you come in. I hope you come visit me sometime, I'll be waiting!
