My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tonka - Your Gentle Giant and Forever Friend!

Are you looking for a canine companion that combines the size of a gentle giant with the heart of a playful puppy? Look no further! Tonka, a big Hound mix with soulful eyes and a heart full of love, is eagerly waiting to become a cherished member of your family.

About Tonka:

  • Breed: Hound Mix

  • Age: Approximately two years old

  • Location: Currently in New England

Personality: Tonka is a true sweetheart with an easy-going disposition that will melt your heart. Despite his large size, Tonka thinks he's a lap-sized puppy, ready to shower you with love and affection. His gentle nature makes him the perfect addition to any loving home.

Playful and Loving: Tonka has a playful side that will bring joy to your days. He adores playing with toys and can't resist the allure of treats. Whether it's a game of fetch in the yard or a snuggle on the couch, Tonka is always up for quality time with his human companions.

‍ Walking Companion and Couch Potato: Tonka is the best of both worlds! He enjoys leisurely walks, making him an excellent walking companion. On the flip side, when it's time to unwind, Tonka is more than happy to transform into a couch potato, complete with adorable snores that will surely warm your heart.

‍‍‍ Excellent Family Pet: Tonka's loving nature and gentle demeanor make him an excellent choice for families. He gets along famously with people of all ages but he would be best in a home without small children due to his size and would thrive in a home with a hardy playmate doggy. He is sure to become a loyal and cherished family member.

Tonka's Features:

  • Neutered

  • Up-to-date on vaccinations

  • Microchipped

Transportation: Transportation is available to New England for Tonka's forever home! Adoption fee is $450.

Go meet their pets

We have many events in the Central Arkansas area! And if you are not in the Central Arkansas area, we are more than happy to send you videos and flood you with photos of your pup. :) We operate in New England as well, and typically are there for 4-5 days out of the month. Also, please speak to the foster parent to find out anything you'd like to know. We are more than happy to connect you!

More about this rescue

Our goal is to educate the public on spaying/neutering their pets, as well as to advocate/provide safe temporary homes for displaced, neglected, or abused animals. We rehabilitate, vet, and place in permanent homes, as well as offering transport to the New England area.
