My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: West Columbia, SC
Name: Pluto
Age: 9.5 months
Breed: Coonhound, German Shepherd, Akita, Mix
M/F: M
Spayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies, bordetella & dhlpp, up to date on heartworm prevention, neuter scheduled for April 8th (adoptee can keep or change to preferred location)
Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: all of the above
Aggression or medical issues?: no aggression - was born with a deformed paw but the vet does not see it needing any future medical care although it will put him more prone to arthritis (easily managed with joint food or supplements at a younger age). This doesn’t affect his daily life or energy level in the slightest, he will only hold it up after a lot of playing as I’m sure it tires out quicker.
Reason for rehoming?:mom has been a stray running for 4+ years that no one was able to catch. We finally caught her during her last pregnancy a couple days before birth. He was adopted and returned due to no fault of his own.
House/crate trained?: yes to both
Additional info/story (personality):
He is extremely sweet with everyone and meets no stranger. He loves his outside time and playing. Would thrive best in a home with lots of attention or doggy friends to play with. Also a huge goofball. Does still jump when excited but is doing much better. Can pull quite hard on a leash as I don’t think he realizes his size. Was super gentle with the cats I introduced him to though.
Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home and remaining vetting is completed.

Go meet their pets

We are foster based only at this time.
Meet and greets for dogs must be scheduled in advance.
Meet and greets for cats are near impossible normally because we all foster/house both cats and dogs and the dogs "go off" when visitors come over making all the cats hide.

More about this rescue

In service of domestic animals in South Carolina, Frisky Business Rescue is a no-kill rescue that provides vital resources such as veterinary care, birthing assistance, medication, and rehoming or safe release (TNR) to the most vulnerable animals in the region. We specialize in animals with special circumstances that come from various backgrounds, including animal hoarding and abusive situations but primarily focus on vulnerable kittens, puppies, and pregnant/nursing dogs and cats. Before rehoming, we carefully screen new potential families to ensure the needs of our animals are met and that new homes will become furever homes.
