We’d love to introduce you to Steve! Steve recently joined MHCR as a transfer from a shelter in Southern Colorado. He was a man that needed a plan as the rescue he was with was closing down. Steve had been with them since the summer of 2023. It was clear he was another victim of black dog syndrome, a crazy phenomenon wherein black dogs wait in shelters waaaaaaaaay longer than other dogs. Steve’s new foster mom is a sucker for the underdog, so she cleared a spot special for him. What we’ve learned is Steve is pretty sensational! He LOVES to play and wrestle with his foster siblings. He does well with the teenager in the home and he has pretty nice house manners! Steve is 2 years old and approximately 60 lbs.

Steve is in foster in Bennett, Colorado.
