My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jazz, the lovable eight-year-old lab/shepherd mix! This medium-sized bundle of joy is the perfect blend of charm and calm. He knows Sit, Stay, Shake, Down! At around 40 pounds, Jazz is house-trained and even knows how to use a doggie door like a pro-no accidents here!

Jazz isn't overly prey-driven, although mopeds and motorcycles can get him all revved up (literally!). He's not much of a barker, but watch out for those two-wheeled vehicles-he might just want to join the chase!

One of Jazz's standout qualities is his gentle demeanor. He's fantastic on a leash, never pulling, and his recall is pretty impressive off-leash. This laid-back pup rarely sheds, sporting a sleek coat of short hair that's easy to maintain.

When it comes to food, Jazz is the definition of easy-going. You can feed him and treat him all day, and he somehow manages to keep that perfect figure without any complaints!

Jazz is a professional snuggler, always ready to hop onto your lap for some quality bonding time. Whether it's day or night, Jazz is your loyal companion, snoozing peacefully right by your side. You can rearrange him like a plush toy, and he won't mind one bit!

Although Jazz doesn't demand daily walks, he absolutely adores accompanying you on any adventure-especially if it involves a car ride! He's also perfectly content at home alone, with tested durations of up to five hours.

In terms of social skills, Jazz is a gem. He gets along famously with two larger canine siblings and has a knack for making friends wherever he goes.

Jazz may not know fancy tricks, but his charm and cuddliness make him the perfect addition to any loving home. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's always up for a ride or a snuggle, Jazz is your guy!

This sweet gentle boy is available for adoption through our website at www.hsnb.org. Head over and fill out an adoption interest form. Jazz's $200 adoption fee helps cover his neuter, microchip, and all shots. Jazz is searching for a loving home to spend his retirement in, could it be yours?

Additional adoption info

We test animals for the following:

Dogs: Good with other dogs, possibly cats, food aggression, walks on leash, noting any other attributes we may know.

Cats: Good with other cats, litter box trained, noting any other attributes we may know.

We cannot test if any animal is good with children. We may know if an animal is possibly house trained, but cannot guarantee any animal in the shelter is house trained. We do not know if a dog is good with cats unless we are advised by a person surrendering the animal. We may have an idea of this depending on how the dog reacts to our community cats that live on the property.

Please visit our website for current fees, and to find out about adoption specials! (The website link is at the top and bottom of this page)
