My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

READY TO ADOPT! Located in Gray Tennessee (northeast of Tennessee)

Oakley is going on 8 mo in foster care without 1 single application!

Foster parents are willing to personally transport up to 3 hours. Asf also partners with an amazing transport team that runs to New England(Hearts Llc). Please read below about this aussome boy!

Hi I'm Oakley! I am a super sweet boy and I LOVE to be right by my people...I am possibly the biggest love bug you will ever meet. I am a double merle so I do come with some special needs, but it's NOTHING that holds me back.

I love to lounge around, go on walks, and car rides. The carpool line with all the kids is my favorite! Even though I can't see them, I know those happy smiling faces are there. I have a very calm, gentle demeanor and do wonderful with dog savvy kiddos. I can be a bit dog selective. Puppies and smaller females dogs suit me best. So once I'm settled in for bit I would absolutely LOVE for my family to make that addition. I have come a very long way with my feline friends. I still need some correcting with cats but with consistency I will be just fine.

As mentioned above I am fully blind and would like to add I may have a slight hearing impairment. I had an enucleastion on my left eye. That is healed and I'm doing great after that surgery. My remaining right eye does require some care with flushing and drops to keep it clear of debris. Sometimes I can startle easily with a sudden touch and will back up. However I come back quickly for that pet on the head. Being blind has not held me back whatsoever. I quickly learned the layout of my foster home. I know every square inch of the backyard and neighborhood. I can even smell when we get close to home on walks. As far as my hearing impairment, I have excellent recall from the furthest point of the yard. So really its not so bad. Please know my disabilities do not define the amazing dog I am.🖤

Oakley is fully house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. UTD on all vetting and neutered. Oakely would benefit from someone willing to work with him on scent and touch training. Oakley will require a fenced yard or someone who will maintain several walks a day with a secure collar such as a martingale. Oakely is at times easily startled and can slip a harness or traditional collar. If Oak sounds like your pup, please fill out the application.
