Samson is a very special dog. He came to us as a feral that was live trapped by our humane officer. We do not know his breed, but he has traits of possibly a lab/GSP mix. Samson has a fear of humans. He is not aggressive, but will need much patience and time to adjust to his new humans and home. He has been in foster care for several months with 2 adults and 5 other dogs. He does fantastic with them, but it took quite some time to get him there. He really enjoys the company of other dogs. He has not been exposed to cats or children and we think he would do best in a home without young children.
Samson will bond with humans with time, but may never be like your typical pet dog. He will need a consistent routine, a fenced yard, another dog for companionship and to help him feel comfortable, patient and loving humans, and someone who is willing to help a dog that has been left behind and thrown away by humans in the past.
The adoption process for Samson will involve possibly several visits and day outings with his new family. He does well riding in a vehicle and going to the vet. New people and situations are scary to him. He does well in a crate and is completely house trained as well. He is a very good boy that needs that special human or humans to believe in him!
