My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing PanPan in Auburn, Ca
PanPan is a darling little 2 1/2 y/o Black Bi Aussie who came in to ASF’s foster program full of puppies and ready to burst. A few short days after coming to her foster home, PanPan had nine beautiful Aussie puppies. All PanPan’s puppies have found their furever homes. Now it is PanPan’s turn.

PanPan was purchased by her original family as a puppy from a Central CA ranch during Covid years along with another Aussie. Both dogs were loved and showed lots of affection, but neither were spayed or neutered or vaccinated. When PanPan became pregnant and needed care that her family could not manage, they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender her to Australian Shepherds Furever. They made the right decision. PanPan and her pups got the care they needed through ASF and though it was a rocky road for PanPan and her pups, with numerous trips to the vet, all is well now.

PanPan (Panny) is a very sweet, smart and loving dog, not to mention about as silly as they come. She weighs just under 40 pounds and is compact and energetic, though she rests when her humans do. PanPan has been around kids, cats, chickens & other dogs and is great with them all. She has been spayed, is up to date on her vaccines and current on heartworm and flea and tick preventative.

She will stay in her crate but isn’t a fan of it. She would prefer to be with her people or on a comfortable bed. Pan has not had an accident in her foster home and waits to be let outside to go potty. Her signal that she needs to go out is to pace or get very excited.

PanPan hadn’t gotten much outside-the-home exposure when she was with her original family, then when she came to her foster family to have her puppies she had to stay at home as well. She is comfortable with men, women and children but she is a little nervous of new people and situations. She will need some gentle, patient work in this area.

PanPan walks on a leash but does better in new situations with another confident dog by her side. Pan is a Velcro dog and sticks close to her human.

Pan’s one cute but annoying quirk is that she loves shoes. She frequently brings Foster mom’s shoes to her while wiggling her back end uncontrollably. It is absolutely adorable, until she chews the laces off. She will gladly take a treat or appropriate toy in trade for the shoe. Foster Mom recommends a Benebone or Bullymake toy. Panny also jumps up to get attention (especially when there is another dog present) which her foster family is working on. She’ll need continued training on this. Panny is a little silly and will bark at some noises such as thumping or stomping on the floor. She gets really excited by this then comes running for attention.

PanPan’s ideal home would include another friendly dog, affectionate humans including children and lots of play time. She might do well in agility or another dog sport. PanPan loves to fetch the ball and will bring it back with the right encouragement. She is fast! And like any Aussie, Pan would do best with a strong consistent leader.

If you think you would be a good fit for PanPan, please apply at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption...

There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family.
