When my brother Rascal (black/white) and I were rescued as little kittens from a backyard in Silver Spring, things seemed to be looking up for us. But while we were searching for our forever home, we both got very sick and were not expected to survive. We developed something called feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), which has traditionally been nearly always fatal in cats. However, after undergoing a long but groundbreaking new treatment, we bounced back and grew into active young adults, and we are now considered “cured”. Life has basically returned to normal. We enjoy playing, exploring and getting petted. Rascal has become a lap cat, while I prefer to rub against human legs. Our search for a forever home has resumed, and we would prefer to be adopted together because we enjoy each other’s company.

More about this rescue
Rock Creek Cats Inc. is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to helping less fortunate felines in the D.C. area.
Our main activity is helping outdoor, unadoptable (feral/wild) cats through what's known as Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR): humanely trapping them, getting them spayed/neutered and vaccinated, and returning them to their environment, while ensuring they have food and shelter. TNR averts the birth of kittens, prevents the feral population from getting out of control, and reduces the number of cats who end up in overloaded, high-kill shelters.
When we come across cats who are good candidates for adoption, we get them appropriate veterinary care and foster them until they are placed in loving, permanent homes. The adoption process includes an application, vet reference check (if applicable), home visit, adoption contract and adoption fee.
We rely on donations to fund our activities. Rock Creek Cats is a 501(c)(3) organization, which means contributions are tax-deductible. Our mailing address is: P.O. Box 203, Garrett Park, MD 20896. For federal employees, our CFC Number is 81366.
