My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

6 Year Old King is a happy, playful, and sweet boy who is sure to steal your heart. Despite being paralyzed, he is the sweetest, most playful guy. Going outside to say hi to all dogs and people is his favortie thing- he is the true definition of a social butterfly - unphased by the fact that he gets around on wheels! His loyalty and love for everyone make him an ideal companion for a home with (hopefully other dogs) and plenty of love to give! This 23lb Frenchie is fostered with three other dogs, and has gently said hi to kids on the streets. In terms of house training, King wears diapers, as he is incontinent and does not feel the lower part of his body. He is crate trained, with a preference for a larger crate, and enjoys being around his humans at all times. King ADORES exploring outside, he's a dream on a leash, smiling and soaking up sun. Nothing seems to faze him, whether it's cars, bikes, or loud noises - he'll happily stroll along on his wheels! King's medical condition doesn't hinder his happiness, and he is currently working on mastering the "stay" command. King originally joined our rescue when he was at risk at our local shelter for coming in paralyzed, he was left there around the holidays. In our care, King had a full veterinary appointment at the Animal Medical Center where we learned that King is paraplegic without pain sensation - it was wonderful to know that despite his condition he doesn’t feel any pain, his chronic myelopathy most likely happened due to an injury to his spinal cord and could have been genetic. King doesn’t require much other care aside from being in diapers as he is incontinent. Otherwise, he walked out with a new set of wheels and rolled right out of there a brand new dog ! Now, we have never seen him happier, he’s eager to run outside, he’s eager to get love and attention from anyone and just emmits unconditioanl love! King is a bundle of joy waiting for his forever home. If you're looking for a loving, playful, and happy pup to complete your family, King might just be the perfect, special match.
