Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*** Skipper's adoption fee has been reduced by 75% to help find him the best home***
Skipper is a handsome and high-energy large breed dog, ready to embark on a new adventure with his forever family. This spirited pup is seeking a home with adults who can match his enthusiasm and provide the active lifestyle he craves.
~ Skipper is looking for a home with a single person, couple, or a family without kids under 18. ~ Skipper is a bundle of energy and loves to play fetch. In fact, he's a pro at it! His favorite pastime is chasing after balls, making him the perfect companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. However, Skipper can be a bit jumpy and mouthy, so a home with adults only would be ideal. ~ It's important to note that Skipper has resource guarding tendencies, especially when it comes to his beloved balls. Understanding his needs and providing a consistent environment will be crucial in helping him overcome this behavior. Due to his prey drive, Skipper would do best in a home without small animals or cats. ~ Skipper came to us as a stray with an unusual gait, and further diagnostics revealed that he had multiple healed fractures. Although these past injuries don't currently affect him, we recommend potential adopters to review his vet records and consult with their vet for a better understanding of his health. ~ Skipper is looking for a home where he is the only dog or a home he can be with another high energy, large breed dog. Skipper doesn't always like to share items with others dogs and can be vocal towards them. ~ To ensure Skipper continues to thrive and be the best boy he can be, he will need two in-person mandatory training sessions. This will not only strengthen the bond between Skipper and his new family but also help address any behavioral challenges. ~ Skipper is looking for a home with a yard, as he loves to run and play. An apartment setting is not be the best fit for him, given his high energy levels. A secure and spacious outdoor area will allow Skipper to indulge in his favorite game of fetch.
If you're ready to provide Skipper with the love, attention, and exercise he needs, and if you're willing to invest in his ongoing training, he could be the perfect addition to your family. Submit an application for Skipper and discover the joy of having an energetic and playful companion by your side!

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
