Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Neila (pronounced like Knee- Luh), nice to meet you! I am an affectionate, goofy, energetic girl who loves to zoom around the yard, chew on toys, and play with my dog-friends. I also really like snuggling up with my humans to give kisses, take a nap, and get pets. I have a beautiful gray coat if I do say so myself, and in the right light my foster-mom says I "glisten"! I'm not sure what that means, but I bet it is cool.
I have a good amount of energy - I love to play with other dogs and REALLY LOVE dog puzzles. I would fit well into a home with other active, playful pups or humans who like to get active outside. I have a cat and dog friend in my foster home and I like both of them - the cat doesn't like me much but I have learned to give him the space he needs.
I've been working hard on my skills lately and I know how to: Sit, Lay Down, and Stay! I also learned how to behave nicely in my kennel, keep my paws on the floor (instead of on the humans), and to only go potty outside. I really like going for rides in the car and sticking my head out the window, especially when we go to Dunkin' Donuts to get a Pup-Cup! I promise I can be your best bud, your shadow, and your personal space-heater if you give me a chance!

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.
San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.
Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
