My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This precious little girl was born in a local shelter and spent the first 10 weeks of her life waiting for someone to notice her.  She was the only one of her litter left behind and was at risk until one of our fosters stepped in. S'mores has not had the easiest path, so she is a little timid at first. She will require a forever home that will have patience to show her love until she feels secure. Once she comes out of her shell, she loves to play, romp around and give kisses. Shes a joy!

S'mores is the perfect best friend / fur-baby! She will stick right by your side or gently sit by your heels (she gives new meaning to "heeler", which I assume she has some of given her goregous spots). As she continuous to gain more confidence, she will be the ideal medium sized dog to take along on your adventures. We imagine her adopter taking her along for whatver the day holds, she'd do very well on walks/hikes/runs or even chilling with her friends at the brewery. Looking into her sweet puppy eyes, you'll definitely fall in love!

S'mores gets along with other dogs wtih a proper introduction and would likely do best with older kids/teens. She loves to play and has also learned some of her house manners, chewing only on her toys and potty trained. She does very well in a crate and will even opt to chill in there during the day - it is her safe spot. She has really flourished in a home environment and we are so excited for her to find her forever family, so she can continue to grow.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
