My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nala is a 3-year-old Boxer/Terrier mix who has a heart as big as Texas. Sadly, Nala came back to Cody’s after her Mommy passed away. Her precious spirit is resilient, and she now is accepting applications for kissable, cuddly, adventurous humans..

She loves all humans and animals, not cat tested but she is so sweet she would probably love them. She is athletic, social, curious, and loves her family more than all her toys combined. Her favorite activities are tug-of-war, hiking, and cuddling on the couch. She does well with small and big dogs. She loves kids but would be better with older kids as she does love to run and jump and play!

Nala loves playing in the yard for hours with her foster sibling. Anything they can chase together, they do! She will cuddle you as long as you want in bed but does sleep in her kennel at night without any issues. She has a blankie that has traveled with her and does great on car rides. Nala will bark if she hears something but isn't a big barker.

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
