My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lacey is a 2 year old border collie mix ? who was found by a Good Samaritan while she was wandering a busy road in a rural area. She weighs 50 lbs. She is such a sweet happy girl and loves every person and dog she meets. She is a true border collie and is smart, wants to be near her people, and wants to run and keep active. Lacey goes for daily runs in the morning with her foster mom and is an excellent running buddy! The morning exercise followed by a play session with the resident dogs make her tired and chill for the work day. She would thrive in a home with someone who wants a frequent hiking, running, or biking buddy! She does have some separation anxiety but does well in a crate and quiets down after a little bit of time. She would love a family with someone who works from home most of the time. Lacey is very obedient, house trained, and friendly and would love to find her forever home!

Cody's adopts dogs in the greater DFW area and does not adopt puppies under the age of 6 months into apartment homes.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
