My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucci was living on the streets with his owner. The owner was on parole and was in jeapordy of going back to jail so he had just let her loose and walked away from her.. Lucci was not well taken care of and was used to solicit money for his homeless owner. She was often tied up behind a Dollare General in 100 degree weather. He had a large tumor that had to be removed. Lucci is a sweet girl sho is about 7 years old.She is housebroken and great with other dogs. She is good with cats too. Sweet and loving. She weighs 50 lbs and she sleeps with her foster currently.She LOVES water - she loves to run through the water hose and frolick in the water and she is great on car rides. She would also do well with children. Lucci has not been lucky (her previous name) but we changed it and hope she finds a loving, wonderful home!!!

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
