My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Coco, the sweetest lady who's eager to love and be loved!

Coco is not just your average dog; she's super sweet, incredibly smart, and picks up commands in no time. She's motivated by food and toys, making training a breeze. If you give her a stuffed toy with a squeaker inside, get ready for some serious entertainment! She's like a cuter, more feminine version of Kano from Mortal Kombat, tearing apart toys and hunting down that squeaker.

Her favorite pastimes include cozy napping, tackling puzzle toys filled with yummy treats, and keeping me company by lounging at my feet while I work. And let's not forget about her ultimate weakness—belly rubs! When you give her one, she transforms into the silliest derp, melting your heart with her joy.

Coco is a mature 5-year-old who's already mastered crate and house training. She's very insistent when it comes to her bathroom breaks, making sure you never forget she needs to go outside.

She's a big girl, weighing around 70 lbs, so a home with older children would be the best fit for her. Sometimes, her excitement can get the best of her, and she may not realize her own strength. However, when given a proper introduction, she's a gentle giant who just wants to share love and companionship.

Now, let's be real—life isn't always rainbows and butterflies, even for this pretty girl. Coco needs time to adjust to new things and experiences, so a patient and understanding family is crucial. A couple of days of decompression in her new home will help her settle in comfortably. While she's great with meeting new people, introductions with other dogs should be slow and controlled. Ongoing obedience training will also be essential, as she's working on controlling her anxiety during outdoor adventures.

But here's the best part: Coco is overflowing with love and loyalty! I can't wait for her to find her forever family, where she can shower them with affection. Are you ready to welcome a new best friend into your life?

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
