My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Wanda!

•gentle and affectionate
•plays well with other dogs
•walks well on leash
•crate and pottied trained
•loves to snuggle with her human.

Knows many commands

Eager to learn

Wanda was part of a stray liter brought to a Dallas area shelter when she was three months old. She was adorable yet overlooked and eventually she was “rescued” from the shelter when she was six months old. She moved to a well-meaning foster but moved to provide her a home life where she could be loved, nurtured and learn to be a dog again. Wanda has flourished in recent months!

Wanda has a striking brindle coat, petite frame and unique look. Her “heeler” face and loving eyes show her gentle nature! True to her breed, Wanda has a keen intelligence and a strong sense of loyalty to her human pack! This youngster is a fast learner with extraordinary intelligence, knowing sit, stay, down, touch, no, off and is an eager learner with unlimited possibilities. True to her “inner heeler/cattle dog” mix, Wanda is a faithful friend with a gentle disposition who will be an excellent fit for families, kids, home or open space. She is house trained, loves quiet time in her crate and enjoys hanging out with her pack! Wanda loves attention and will melt into your arms!!  She is ready for adoption!

Applications are at codys_adoption_application.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
