Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ward! Ward is a gorgeous brindle Shepherd mix with an estimated DOB of 05/05/2016. He is a happy go lucky boy who is accustomed to leash walks, crate trained, likes other dogs (but we think he would do best in a home with older dogs or calm dogs. He doesn't seem to be a fan of smaller dogs). He doesn't like sharing food so would need to be fed separately. Ward knows commands, "sit", "up", and "shake". There is nothing this boy won't do for a treat. Although he isn't a pup anymore, this boy has quite the playful side, but he also enjoys being a couch potato. His ideal family will be gentle with him. He recently spent time in a foster home and does well with kids of all ages. He made himself right at home in her room in fact! He would be best in a home with no cats.
All our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open from 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647....All pets have lifetime sanctuary at Haven of the Ozarks. Go meet their pets
The sanctuary is open to the public. We encourage you to bring along any potential fur-siblings to help pick out your new pet as well. We also hold monthly offsite adoptions at Petsmart and Petco stores in Springfield Missouri, Fayetteville & Rogers Arkansas, and at Orscheln's Farm & Home in Republic, MO. Please find us on Facebook to see where we're going next! (Schedules vary)
We don't always get a chance to check our emails throughout the day, so the quickest way to reach us is by giving us a call at 417-835-3647. Come out and meet your new best friend!

More about this shelter
We are a no-kill sanctuary for stray and abandoned dogs and cats, and for those left homeless by the death of their guardian. We provide an environment as homelike as possible with lots of loving care to our furry residents. It may take days or years, but we will always keep trying for all of the animals in our care. Volunteers and donations are always needed and welcome!
