My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Meet Playful and Charming Spike - Your New Best Friend!"

Hey there, I'm Spike, a handsome American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is ready to find my forever home. At 2 years old, I may still be a young pup but I have lots to offer as a constant companion and loyal friend. I weigh 52 pounds and I'm always up for a good cuddle session with my humans.

I was transferred to the shelter from a rescue partner, and I'm grateful for the chance to find my perfect match. I have a playful and energetic personality that will surely bring joy and laughter to your life. I love going on hikes and playing with my toys, and I have a special love for learning new tricks - so I hope you'll be patient and teach me some!

I am also a social butterfly and extroverted by nature. I love meeting new people and I have a friendly demeanor that makes it easy for me to make new friends. However, I would love to meet any potential doggy siblings before we can become best buds.

I know the right family is out there for me, and I can't wait to meet them! So if you're looking for a smart, playful, and loving companion, come say hi to me at the shelter. Let's see if we're a match and if you can give me the loving home I deserve. I'll be waiting for you with a wagging tail and an open heart.

If you are interested in me, please give my friends at The Humane Society of Sedona a call. I can't wait to meet you!! I am fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home with you, so please come visit me!

Please call between 10am-4pm to schedule an appointment to meet one of our animals! 928-282-4679.

More about this shelter

Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.

Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.

The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.

The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.

Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.

The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
