My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

https://foha.org/pet/toro2024/

Hi there! My name is Toro, and I'm here to tell you a little bit about myself. Life hasn't always been easy for me, but I'm ready to find a loving home where I can spend my golden years surrounded by warmth and kindness.

I used to live with a very poor family in Mexico, and unfortunately, I didn't receive much vet care. You might notice that my ears have been cropped, but don't let that fool you-I'm a gentle and sweet boy with a heart full of love. Despite my health and old age, I still have some pep in my step, especially when there's a game of tug involved. I recently got the chance to "chase" a tug toy, and it was so much fun (even for an old man like me)!

I absolutely adore food and treats - honestly, I'm not picky at all. I'll do just about anything for a tasty snack. And when it comes to getting some love, count me in! I love using your body to scratch my face and ears, and I'm a total snuggle bug. Whether you're petting me everywhere or lifting me into the transport van, I don't mind at all. No resource guarding issues here - I just want to be close to you.

I'm a well-behaved guy who knows commands like sit and find it. My only struggle seems to be some dermatitis around my ears, but with the right care, I'm sure it'll get better. I take treats gently and am not the least bit jumpy - you could say I'm a bit of a couch potato. Oh, and snow? Not my favorite thing, but who can blame me for that?

The rescue I came from in Mexico says I'm good with other dogs and children. I used to live with one family, but I did like to explore the neighborhood. Life back then wasn't ideal, but my family did what they could for me - not much, but they tried. Despite the rough times, I'm in good spirits and just longing for a home filled with love, treats, and someone to scratch my itchy spots. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's been through a lot but still has a heart full of love to give, look no further - I'm your Toro!
