Lucy's Story...
Lucy is a lovable, young Pointer and Pit Bull mix. With the unique markings of a Pointer, the body of a Pit and soulful amber eyes..this girl's quite a beauty! She was rescued from the shelter by a volunteer just minutes before being euthanized. Lucy had quite a ruff start in life and sadly missed the guidance and socialization all puppies need. She is currently in foster home receiving a crash course in manners and also overcoming her fear of dogs on leash. Lucy has learned so much already, and loves to work! She is very active and very intelligent, and would need a home to match her energy. Lucy would absolutely excel at any type of canine sport like agility or flyball. She is happiest when kept busy, but also cuddles like the best of them. One of her favorite things to do is curl up with you after a long day, and rest her head on your shoulder. Lucy would thrive in an adult home with no other pets(could possibly be matched with another dog), so that she may be able to receive all the love and attention she deserves.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Habra already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Habra breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
