My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please consider Drake as a new member to your family. This guy is funny, has a great personality, loves everyone once he knows you, which is fairly quick. Let's find him his home.

DRAKE is a 6 yr old neutered male mini Schnauzer. He is liver color and weighs about 16lbs. He is great with other dogs but not cats. He has never been tested with young kids, but would be okay with kids over 10.

This guy is heartworm negative, dewormed, and microchipped, UTD on vaccines/rabies. He is on monthly preventions.

Drake has to be the MOST LOVING male Schnauzer I've had in quite some time. He is sooo loving and just hugs you when you pick him up. He loves getting in your face to just smell of you. He is always happy with his little nub just wagging. He practically does a happy dance each time you approach him. He came from a horrific puppy mill with over 100 other dogs. The poor guy knew nothing except to breed. He is now about 95% house trained and lives inside a home and is doing quite well with his foster family. He does need more work with leash walking. But otherwise if you're looking for a guy who wants attention and follow you around, then he's your mate.

He would do best in a home if there is someone home often and perhaps another small dog. A fenced yard is required. He is used to being the only male around so we aren't positive on how well he would do with another male. But we do believe with his laid back personality and not being a dominant dog he would do fine.

His fee is $400. We do not ship animals, nor do we hold animals. If you aren't ready to adopt now, please do not apply until you're ready. We are all volunteers and you will need to be patient as we get your application processed.

Drake is being fostered in Durham, NC. You must be willing to drive there for pick up at adoption time.

Please do NOT complete an application on this site, we cannot retrieve it and we never charge for completing an application.
