Weight: 37 lbs (as of 04/26/24)
Location: RI
Pearl is available for adoption to Massachusetts residents, as well as those in the other New England states.
This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.
Meet sweet Pearl Shea!
Pearl can be slow to warm at first, but once she does, she is a love bug. Once you earn her trust she is such a sweet girl. She is in a foster home with another dog, cats and chickens and doing well with all the animals. Her foster also has children, but Pearl will be crated when the kid's have friends over just because it's overwhelming for her. Although good with kids, a home with small children may be too overwhelming for her.
Her foster family describes her as shy, affectionate, gentle, and eager to please. She is friendly with children and other dogs, and would do best in a predictable, calm household, ideally with another confident dog. She is a quiet and unassuming houseguest, and her favorite things include toys and playing chase and tug of war. She loves playing with the other dogs. After a good romp, she is happy to cuddle on your lap.
Pearl is completely house trained and sleeps in her crate for a good 7 hours without accident at night.
We do recommend training for them to help them bond with you and fine-tune their manners. Remember, a well-trained dog is a happy and safe dog!
Pearl's Backstory: Pearl Shea and her sisters were rescued from living on the streets in a rough part of town in Louisiana.
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

* *Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
