My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi Biggie Paws 🐾 Friends ! Are you looking 🔍 for unconditional love and cuddles ? Well, look no further. Meet Gamma. Gamma is approximately 5 years old, weighs about 35 pounds, looks like a Shepherd Mix and is staying in Madison, WI while she waits for her Fur-Ever Family. 🥹

Gamma came to us from the great state of Texas. We’ve been told when she was there, a witness saw a car pull up, drop her off and leave. Gamma watched her family drive away, and she waited for them like the wonderful loyal girl she is …but they NEVER came back. 😭 Gamma found some other stray dog friends and hung out with them until our rescue partner in Texas was called and picked her up. ❤️

Gamma arrived in Wisconsin on the day Madison had the big snow storm. 🌨️❄️ It was cold 🥶 and snowy, but Gamma didn’t seem phased by the cold …and she has been very curious about the fluffy white stuff that falls from the sky ever since. Her foster says “it has been cute to witness her discover and play in the snow. She looks fantastic in her winter fashion outfit - she immediately got used to her winter boots and coat.” 🥰

She will follow, cuddle 🤗 and fall asleep on the couch with her foster. The foster has not heard her voice yet, but knows she listens and follows commands VERY well. Gamma knows “sientate” (“sit” in Spanish - they are working on translating that to the English command). Gamma also knows “come here, off, outside and upstairs.”

Gamma has proven to be an impressive and resilient girl …you see, she is missing one front leg. She is VERY well adjusted to life on three legs. She runs, walks, moves and does EVERYTHING perfectly on them. Her foster lives in a condo, so Gamma has gotten used to going up and down the stairs by herself. She does fine with the stairs as long as they are not slippery when she’s walking down them. No one knows how Gamma lost her leg …whether it was the result of an accident or if she was born with only the 3 - all we know for sure is that she is VERY comfortable on them.

Gamma is potty trained, 🚽💩 …she used a potty pad inside 1 time when she first came to stay with her foster. She is comfortable with other dogs. 🐕 We’re not sure about cats 🐈 or kiddos though. She LOVES ❤️ to go for walks, play outside and have tummy rubs. 🥰

If interested in being considered to adopt Gamma, please fill out an adoption application under the link below. Gamma is up to date on all her age appropriate shots, 💉 microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $450.
