My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age:  11
DOB:  04/10/2012
Sex:  Male
Spayed/Neutered:  Yes

Breed:  DLH
Primary Color : Grey
Secondary Color:  White

Weight:  approx. 18 lbs

Microchip ID:  985112005365386

Medications:  Cosequin, 1 tablet 1x/day mixed with 1/8 can Royal Canon Urinary SO
Food:  Free-feed Purina Friskies Farm Favorites

Bonded?:  Yes, with his littermate brother, Jay

Next date of vaccines:

• 4/29/24: Annual wellness exam, Rabies 1 yr

 • 9/25/24: FVRCP 3 yr booster

Temperament with other cats/dogs/children:  Best in a home only with his bonded littermate brother, Jay. P.B. has issues with aggression towards strangers (humans & pets). There is no history of biting behavior. He will need a safe space to call his own (shared with Jay) and a patient owner who can give him time to warm up to them.

Bio:  Pretty Boy (answers to P.B.) is a complicated soul with much love and cuddles to give to just the right human. He and his littermate brother, Jay, have been together in the same home since they were orphaned as kittens and needed bottle-feeding. P.B. enjoys catnip, laser tag, and any tiny toy that he can hold in his front paws, lay belly-up, and play kick-er-oo with his back paws. Once P.B. has accepted you as his human, he’ll turn into a butterball of cuddles; if he really trusts you, he’ll beg for a good belly rub! In the meantime, he needs a lot of patience, distance, and a safe place to call his own until he can warm up to his new surroundings and humans.

*** The original owner can provide some food, a litter box, a cat bed, and toys upon request.

***Disclaimer*** Unfortunately, there are not enough rooms at the inn to admit every dog that needs a furever home. But, we still want to help those dogs (and cats) on their journey! By courtesy posting, AAHA is offering our website/network as an additional resource to help an owner or shelter gain additional exposure for the dog they are trying to place. AAHA has not met nor evaluated the dog (or cat) we are courtesy posting. AAHA makes no representation about courtesy posted pets including the health and temperament and accepts no liability in this exchange. Arrangements for adoptions are made between the caretaker of the pet and the potential adopter.May 12, 2024, 7:27 am

Additional adoption info

An approved application, vet reference, personal reference check and home visit are required to finalize an adoption. We suggest a $200 donation that helps offset some of our expenses such as feeding, boarding, training, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and miscellaneous veterinary costs.
Adoption fees are used to continue to help homeless animals in need!

Go meet their pets

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
