My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cheeto is an older guy at around 8 years of age or so, and yes, he has some lumps and bumps and warts, but they don`t bother him one bit. It`s just a part of becoming a wise and mature pup. Cheeto came to BAS as a stray and has a cheerful and friendly personality. As we always tell you, seniors make GREAT companions and Cheeto promises to as well, so come meet him today!

Volunteer notes, 5/2/24:
Cheeto is such a wonderful boy. He had just had surgery on some lumps and bumps and was looking very cute in his purple bandages and pitiful in his Cone of Shame, so of course we had to take him for a short walk. This baby has personality plus and is a shrewd negotiator. For example, he decided he wanted to go for a car ride and tried to convince us we should take him away in a white truck that wasn`t ours. He cheerfully settled for some time in the play yard with plentiful treats. He barked once each time he took a treat; it was adorable. How is this precious creature not running some lucky human`s life for them yet?!

Dog Day Out, 4/19/24:
Cheeto is the sweetest old man. We started out our day by taking a leisurely stroll through Burlington City Park, where he did amazing on the leash! Next, I met up with a friend to have a picnic at the lake. He LOVED meeting new people and would stand there and let them pet him forever if he could! Cheeto does well in the car, but much prefers to have someone to keep him company in the back seat :) Cheeto was very interested in the ducks and would bark at them occasionally, but responded well to redirection. He didn`t seem to know any commands (we tried `sit` and `down`), but he is VERY food motivated so I`m sure he would pick up on training quickly. Cheeto needs a little work on his manners while other people are eating, but I`m sure that once he spends some more time away from the shelter, his manners will improve. Overall, Cheeto is such a sweet boy and would love to be your new cuddle buddy! Or road trip buddy! Or anything buddy!

Dog Day Out 4/10/24:
First Cheeto loved sticking his head out the car window when I picked him up! We headed to my house, where he met my dogs, Razzle and Pebbles (and the cats). We hung at the house for a bit, but decided to go meet up with the in-laws` dog, Dave the Labrador! I took Cheeto and Dave to Lowes where Cheeto got a lot of attention from one of the employees. After Lowes, I drove Cheeto and Dave back to the house where I got Razzle and Pebbles ready to go fo
