Are you looking for a fun, playful, goofball - meet Colby! Colby is approximately 50lb, almost a year old, maybe a hound mix, possibly part Blackmouth Cur. What we do know is he’s a love bug. He’s great with cats and submissive to other dogs. And he loves people. Almost a Velcro dog, trying to sit on you or follow closely. Colby is house trained and crate trained, but prefers to sleep in his person’s bed. He rides well in the car, and enjoys adventures. Colby does have a few work in progress areas. He tends to be jumpy and mouthy when he’s excited, so maybe not good with little kids. We are working on this. We are also using a gentle leader to work on leash training. Colby is food motivated and learns quickly. With a good owner, and consistent training, he will be the perfect pet. Come meet him. I know you will fall in love with him.

There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.
Completed applications can be sent via email to help@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524, or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).
