My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Baby!

This awesome Shepherd mix pup just wonderful and so fun. She is a young girl and a working breed at that, so she will need an experienced owner who is familiar with the needs of this type of dog. A home with a yard is a must - another dog in the home is highly preferred.

She is potty trained and also knows how to use a dog door. She's almost mastered "sit." She learns quickly and is very smart.

She can be left alone within the house. She's initially shy with new people but quickly warms up. She LOVES to play, especially in the morning before you've had coffee...at that time her favorite "toy" is the sash to your robe.

She's mastered dropping the ball down the stairs, chasing after it and bringing it back up and repeat. She loves to play tug of war. She is great with larger dogs but plays too roughly with small dogs and cats (but does not have any aggression towards other animals).

She knows how to share her food but also likes to try everyone else's bowl as she's convinced they have something better. She will beat you to bed and make sure she has the best spot.

Small children would probably be pulled around by their diapers, pants or shirts so we recommend no children under 8.

Baby is vaccinated, chipped and will be spayed. Her adoption fee is $495.

We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life!

To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!

More about this rescue

Saving Great Animals is a match-making rescuer. We have no public facility. We work individually to do our best in matching your desires and lifestyle to the best animal pal. We love what we do! We are Seattle-based but have representatives in all parts of Washington state and the Pacific Northwest.

We are volunteer-based and everyone in our rescue works full time at paying careers,

Saving Great Animals has been working tirelessly as a no-kill, foster-based rescue for the last 9 years. We also are connected to a wide network of foster homes and numerous shelters around the state to find permanent homes for animals that are deserving of love and a family. Many of the dogs and cats we rescue would otherwise face unecessary euthanization.

We also work hard to bring dogs and cats into SGA directly from their former home so they animals will never enter the shelter system which has environments that can be very stressful for them, even though we know so many shelter workers who are tireless too in helping the animals.

A very small percentage of our dogs come to us from our sister-shelter in Taiwan, where these dogs are typically rescued from deplorable circumstances.

All of our pets available for foster or adoption also are listed on PetFinder at (http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/WA418.html).

To contact SGA directly, please email info@savinggreatanimals.org.

If you are interested in fostering or volunteering, we want to hear from you! We are finalizing our 501 C-3 status; and do appreciate any and all donations as 100% of our funds, every penny, goes to the animals. We are always extremely tight on funds, frequently dipping into our own pockets. All donations can be paid by paypal by sending to perrin@savinggreatanimals.org
