My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zoey!

She is a delightful 3-year-old Pitbull mix with a heart full of love and a charming personality to match! Weighing in at a perfect 50 pounds, Zoey is the ideal mix of strength and sweetness.

Zoey is ready to bring joy to a family with children of all ages. Her gentle nature and loving spirit make her a wonderful companion for those seeking a loyal and affectionate canine friend.
While Zoey shows potential with other dogs, her initial nervousness requires a patient and understanding approach. With the right match and a bit of time, Zoey is sure to blossom into the perfect playmate for your furry family members.

Are you ready to open your home to Zoey's love? Call 330-487-0333 ext 226 to schedule an appointment and witness the magic of Zoey's affection. Your forever friend is just a call away! #AdoptZoey #SweetPitbullMix

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
